Making peace with your TMJ pain.
Hi, I’m Christine Janzen, BS, RDH, CMT, and I’m a registered dental hygienist and massage therapist. Like you, I’ve suffered with pain and stress of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) for over 20 years now. While practicing clinical dental hygiene for a decade, I found a need for a non-invasive approach to easing TMD pain, and thus started this path to creating a gentle, whole-body treatment with Jaw Zen Therapies!
I initially took a myofunctional therapy course from MyoMentor, which opened my eyes to an epidemic of improper breathing – stemming from improper posture, tongue placement, swallowing, etc. However, I knew I wanted to focus on a blend of hands-on therapies and education for relieving TMD symptoms for clients. I found out about myofascial release and TMJ Massage Therapies, and I knew this was the direction I wanted to take.
If you’re looking for a holistic, manual approach to addressing your jaw pain and related issues to complement your current TMD treatments, I would love to help you!
